Community Gardens in Public Spaces

‘Greening Your Footprint’ Community Garden

We love helping to co-design and plant up community gardens. With Transition Kentish Town, we transformed an under-used patch of land at the Kentish Town Fire Station into a bucolic ‘Greening Your Footprint’ community garden. It’s a garden where locals pass by every day, stop to help water the plants and pick herbs, or just pause for a breather to enjoy the lovely changing seasonal colours. The following three pictures are of the garden:

At Kentish Town Overground Station, we helped build planters which are now brimming with lots of lovely pollinators and colour. Weary passengers often remark how happy this mini ‘Cottage Garden on Platform One’ brings a smile to their face. Staff at the overground also enjoy helping with the watering.

Local Health Centres

We’ve also co-designed and created two gardens at local health centres: The Well-Beeing Garden (note the two ‘ee’s!) and The Listening Space at the Caversham group practice. Both of these gardens provide a lovely haven for patients waiting for appointments.
