Introduction

Public Spaces, Social Enterprise and Community

We are passionate about developing and creating community gardens, and transforming public spaces into inspiring social hubs. We are working with a number of health centres to create therapeutic gardens and schools to maximise biodiversity and engage children. We believe that no public space should be left untended and underused. It’s all about maximising social amenity and creating community. This year, with Transition Kentish Town, we even created a bucolic cottage garden on Platform 1 of Kentish Town Overground station which has transformed the station atmosphere.

A new collaboration we have just undertaken is to work with the SHP – Single Homeless Project, to turn their gardens into places of positivity and productivity. We would be interested in hearing from businesses with a genuine interest in enhancing sustainability and community.

Not only do we design and create public gardens, but we have considerable experience in curating and facilitating community engagement programmes. We have hosted over 200 events in the areas of resilience, environmental and ecological well-being with the aim of engendering community cohesion.

We recently curated a hazel and willow den-building, woodland design day at a school in North London. After five den structures were built around the school grounds, the 50 volunteers enjoyed a delicious glass of school-grown rosehip cordial.
